1986
THE CADENA FAMILY ARRIVAL
Lorenzo Cadena Sr. leaves Chihuahua, Mexico, and arrives in Kansas City via a BNSF freight train stopping near Kansas Avenue & 7th Street.

1992
THE FAMILY BUSINESS
Lorenzo Cadena Sr. launches USAMEX Painting (now Santafé Renovations) with his brothers.

1995
THE FOOTBALL CLUB
Alonzo Cadena sparks the idea of starting a local Sunday league soccer team. Lorenzo Cadena and USAMEX Painting support the initiative and found Chihuahua Club de Futbol.

2017
THE SECOND GENERATION
Lorenzo Cadena Jr. inherits the club and registers it to compete in higher-level regional and national competitions. The name is formally changed to Santafé Wanderers to honor the earliest Hispanic settlers who arrived in Kansas City via the Santa Fe Trail.


2025
THE USL ERA
Santafé Wanderers are awarded a USL franchise and enter USL League Two, the most prestigious amateur soccer league in North America.
