Santafé Wanderers FC is an expansion team of the United Soccer League (USL), which is the largest and fastest-growing professional soccer organization in North America and one of the most successful professional soccer leagues in the world.
Santafé Wanderers is currently competing in USL League Two, sanctioned as a Division 4 team by the U.S. Soccer Federation.
The USL recently revealed plans to begin promotion and relegation, a historic first for American sports. It is unclear yet when that will begin, but USL2 teams will not be a part of the initial promotion relegation plans.
The Santafé Wanderers USL2 activities will be primarily situated in Olathe, Kansas.
Santafé Wanderers will begin play in USL2 in mid May.
USL League Two season runs from May through July each year.
Founded in 1995, the team began as Chihuahua Club de Futbol, a Sunday league team established in eastside Kansas City, Kansas, by Alonzo Cadena Sr., Lorenzo Cadena Sr., Eloy Flores Sr., and Rosalio Contreras. Lorenzo Cadena Jr. inherited the team in 2017, transitioning it into more organized regional leagues. The team, now known as the Wanderers, made its USL League Two debut in 2025. Lorenzo Jr.’s central vision is to foster a profound love for soccer within the community and guarantee the sport is accessible to all fans and athletes, regardless of age or skill level.
The Wanderers do not have an “official” supporters group at the moment. However, we have a strong belief one will emerge organically as the Wanderers consolidate themselves in the area.
